Mark Asofsky, President and founder of Twin-Star International, announced today that
they are expanding into a new corporate office in Delray Beach, FL., more than doubling their current work space.
“We are fortunate that in this tough economic climate our sales continue to improve. Without question the time is right for us to invest further in our growth.” says, Asofsky. The expansion plans also include bringing on more personnel to boost progress and efficiency. Some areas the new hires will specialize in are design, consumer support and web based services.
Asofsky attributes Twin-Star’s forward momentum in large part to the success of
ClassicFlame, their electric fireplace brand. “Consumers are spending less, and while
replacing your furniture may not be fiscally responsible, adding an electric fireplace not only spruces up the look of an old room, it also serves as alternative heat, which is less expensive and could save money on heating costs in the long run.”
Retailers are so hot on the category due to its high gross margin dollars to sqft., thatTwin-Star has sold their products into more than 4000 new doors so far this year. Andy Bandremer Twin-Star’s Senior Vice President says, “There’s no secret to our success, we just have a great team of smart and forward thinking associates who enjoy working together and they always put our dealers first. We are a customer driven company and we will always find ways for them to be successful and for their customers to be proud of their purchase.” Consumers are so proud in fact that 99.4% of people who purchased a Twin-Star product say they would buy another one.
At this past Fall High Point Market, Twin-Star also doubled their Plaza Suites square
footage to make room for Tresanti media consoles, the company’s newest venture. The
Tresanti name will bring some very exciting, highly original, and functional furniture to the upcoming Las Vegas Market and the Consumer Electronics Show.

Twin-Star Intl. Launches 300 Cube Split Container Program for its ClassicFlame,

Twin-Star International is announcing the launch of a 300 cube split container program for the company’s ClassicFlame Electric Fireplaces, Tresanti Media Consoles, Thermoelectric Wine Coolers, Beverage Cabinets, Kitchen Islands, and Duraflame Infrared Quartz Heaters and Fireplaces. Twin Star will be fully operational in its 180,000 square foot warehouse in the Shenzhen free trade zone by June 15th. The 300 cube split container program is operated in conjunction with Zenith Global Logistics.
Retailers who participate in the program can now take advantage of china direct pricing while being able to order in small quantities. Any or all of Twin-Star’s brands and products can be mixed in one 300 cube order making it easy for the retailer. Prices to the retailers include all duties and freight from Twin-Star’s China warehouse to their retail store. Split container orders are targeted to arrive at the retailer's door within approximately six weeks. Zenith’s program also includes 24 hour a day web portal access for live updates on status and location of all orders.
“We built our business by giving our customers the unique ability to mix all our diverse product categories in one container, now the smaller retailer or a customer who does not choose to buy a whole container will also have the option of buying at less than domestic prices by split container. We believe in giving our customers options and in selling them the way they want to buy. With the split container program all of our customers have the ability to buy either domestically or by direct import or both at any time.” says Bill Caples, Twin-Star’s VP of Sales & Marketing.
According to Caples “The response from our entire sales force and our customers has
been very positive. Our customers really like that this program allows them to bring in as little as one of an item on a direct import basis as part of their 300 Cube orders.”
The combination of faster turn around and smaller orders at import pricing sounds like a home run for Twin-Star Intl. and their wide range of furniture categories and brands including ClassicFlame Electric Fireplaces, Tresanti Media Consoles, Wine Cabinets and Kitchen Islands, and Duraflame Infrared Quartz Heaters and Fireplaces. Twin-Star will be at the National Hardware Show Las Vegas 5/10-5/12 – Booth 5606 If you would like more information about this topic, or to schedule an interview, please call Twin-Star’s Marketing & PR Director, Alexia Rouquette at 561.665.8093or e-mail ARouquette@twinstarhome.com or visit us at http://www.twinstarhome.com/or ClassicFlame.com

A Cool Debut from Twin-Star International
Twin-Star International, manufacturer of ClassicFlame Electric Fireplaces and Tresanti Media Cabinets is introducing a new line of unique and cool home furnishing: Tresanti Refrigerated Wine Cabinets.
Filling a void in the marketplace, Tresanti Wine Cabinets have been well received by retailers. Each cabinet is constructed using the finest
quality wood veneers and hardwood solids, and stunning multi-step hand rubbed finishes. The wine coolers in each cabinet are thermo electric and feature dual zone cooling that allows you to chill between 12 and 36 bottles at their appropriate temperature.
The Rosemont, as an example, also features a drop lid work surface that conceals a storage area with a mirrored back panel, stemware rack and interior LED lighting, hidden swing out locked door cabinets for added storage, and solid inlaid black granite top.
Another very impressive feature of Tresanti refrigerated wine cabinets is their price point. With MSRP’s ranging from $599 to $1500 there really is something for all of your customers. Andy Bandremer, SVP of Twin-Star Intl. says, “Everyone’s tightening the purse strings, and looking for ways to make their home experience more enjoyable. Time with family and friends is paramount, and these wine cabinets add just the touch that consumers are looking for. They’re not only priced right, but they’re impressive to display, and they add that extra something new to the home.”
According to a study done by The Neilson Company, close to one and a half billion bottles of wine were sold in the US last year and that number rose 13% over 2007. Wine is certainly big business and with no signs of consumers putting their glasses down soon this is the perfect time to invest in Tresanti’s Refrigerated Wine Cabinets.

Twin-Star Adds Wine Coolers, Media Consoles to Classic Electric Fireplace Selections
Not-so-common Rental Products Gain Momentum for Dealers
It’s either hot or cold at Twinstarhome.com, whose ClassicFlame electric fireplaces have been popular in rental-purchase stores since they introduced them several years ago. Adding a new twist with a new product line, Twin-Star now offers the Tresanti line of wine coolers, until recently not something typically found in an RTO showroom.
“Refrigerated wine cabinets are something new to bring into a rental store,” says Alexia Rouquette Mays, director of marketing and public relations for Twin-
Star. “Wine is big business. RTO dealers who have put our coolers in their stores are finding that customers will come in for one thing, see the cooler as something they’ve ‘gotta have’ and end up adding that to their order – sometimes almost as an impulse buy.” She adds that because a Tresanti wine cooler is framed by a quality crafted cabinet with hand-rubbed finish, it is viewed as a piece of furniture that adds style to the home.
ClassicFlame Electric Fireplaces
The Tresanti line follows suit with ClassicFlame products in presenting fine furniture with function. In its award-winning line of electric fireplaces, Twin-Star features more than 30 different models in various furniture styles and finishes. “In a nutshell, our fireplaces add beauty to any home. They are practical for consumers and are an excellent source of alternative revenue for dealers who are looking for strong selling products that will boost business,” says Mays. “We use the highest quality wood veneers and solid hardwoods, metal to metal wood block connectors and hand applied finishes which combine to create an heirloom piece of furniture. Attractive and functional, they are also environmentally friendly, easy to install and add heightened design to any room.”
Mays points out that unlike gas and wood burning fireplaces, electric fireplaces emit no carbon monoxide, leave no indoor pollution and do not require the consumption of wood or fossil fuels to produce heat. Additionally, 100% of the electric input energy is converted to heat which will warm the room without overheating or wasting energy by heating other rooms that are rarely used.
Heather Buchanan, buyer for Countryside Rentals in Ohio, says not only do they look good, ClassicFlame fireplaces have helped customers battle both cold weather and a frigid Ohio economy. “Customers love the great styles, but with a high rate of unemployment here this winter, people have found them an inexpensive way to supplement their heat. They went out quickly this season.”
Mays adds that surprisingly ClassicFlame fireplaces are popular year-round because of the “furniture appeal” and look it brings to a room, whether turned on or off.
From Hot to Cold
Bill Caples, vice president of sales & marketing at Twin-Star, says that because of their unparalleled quality of construction and fine furniture quality, ClassicFlame fireplaces stand apart from the competition. “We enable dealers to offer something that is both practical and beautiful to customers and profitable to business owners.
Now we are expanding to reach that same interest in quality and design through our classic wine coolers. The novelty of having these available will be an instant attraction to customers who soon will appreciate many functional features, such as dual zone refrigeration, locking cabinet doors, hidden storage and high-quality hardwood. In time, when customers are used to seeing them in their local rental store, they will adopt the mentality of ‘Doesn’t everyone have a wine cooler!’”
Media Consoles Make Sense
Adding to its 60,000 products currently out in the rental field, Twin-Star also is ramping up sales of its Tresanti entertainment consoles, another upscale line introduced last year to a small test market. “We offered one skew to Rent-A-Center stores and because of its success we are looking to up the number of skews,” explains May. “This line is really catching on and is a great compliment to other products being offered in rental stores. It proves that consumers want quality pieces of furniture in their homes and are looking for upscale selections.”
Caples adds, “One reason we have been successful with our fireplaces and now our wine coolers and consoles is that we are able to provide quality and affordability – true value. That appeals to consumer budgets and store profit margins. It’s a win win.”

Twin-Star Intl. Award Winning Electric Fireplace Designs

Twin-Star Intl. Protects its Intellectual Property and Award Winning Designs
In 2008 Twin-Star International made a strong statement to its competitors that copies and knock-offs of their designs will not be tolerated. This message was delivered in three separate actions against companies that attempted to misappropriate Twin-Star’s
copyrighted designs.
The Philip Reinisch Company, SteinWorld LLC, and Hargrove Manufacturing
Corporation, were all notified of alleged copyright infringement by Twin-Star. All were settled with the companies’ agreement on a cessation to produce the models in question, and Twin-Star received royalties from the accused models. SteinWorld LLC agreed to remove themselves completely from the electric fireplace business for a period of no less than 18 months.
President Mark Asofsky says “Our in-house design team and the award winning products
they develop are a testament to their creativity and Twin-Star’s commitment to bring innovative designs to market. We plan to stand by and protect the over 1,000 designs
currently under our belt and will continue to fight plagiarism.”
Twin-Star International is passionate about putting in the time and effort that it takes to protect its intellectual property. In addition to copyright, Twin-Star patent protects its innovative fireplace designs and rigorously enforces its intellectual property rights against companies that attempt to misappropriate Twin-Star’s property.
