Twin-Star Expands: Headquarters, Personnel, Product Lines

Mark Asofsky, President and founder of Twin-Star International, announced today that
they are expanding into a new corporate office in Delray Beach, FL., more than doubling their current work space.

“We are fortunate that in this tough economic climate our sales continue to improve. Without question the time is right for us to invest further in our growth.” says, Asofsky.The expansion plans also include bringing on more personnel to boost progress and efficiency. Some areas the new hires will specialize in are design, consumer support and web based services.

Asofsky attributes Twin-Star’s forward momentum in large part to the success of
ClassicFlame, their electric fireplace brand. “Consumers are spending less, and while
replacing your furniture may not be fiscally responsible, adding an electric fireplace not only spruces up the look of an old room, it also serves as alternative heat, which is less expensive and could save money on heating costs in the long run.”

Retailers are so hot on the category due to its high gross margin dollars to sqft., thatTwin-Star has sold their products into more than 4000 new doors so far this year. ClassicFlame goes Hollywood

In an effort to amp up exposure and brand recognition among consumers, ClassicFlame has launched a game show campaign for their beautiful electric fireplaces.

So far ClassicFlame has been featured on the hit TLC show “Your Place or Mine” with the stylish Metropolitan and on CBS’s The Price Is Right hosted by Drew Carrey with the Annapolis! On both shows the game players did win the fabulous prize, and are said to love their new ClassicFlame Electric Fireplaces.

Retailers Partied like Rock-Stars with Twin-Star at the Hard Rock, Las Vegas

Twin-Star International, known industry wide as the manufacturer of ClassicFlame Electric Fireplaces and Tresanti Media Consoles, can now add Pre-Market Party Savants to their list of successful ventures.

On Sunday July 27th, Twin-Star hosted their first annual “Party like a Rock-Star with Twin-Star” event at Body English Nightclub in the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino, Las Vegas.

The night was organized to thank customers, sales representatives and employees for their business and hard work. The fun and care-free event had people dancing up a storm to a live DJ, in the popular Las Vegas Venue. Guests were treated to an open bar, passed hors d’oeuvres and a dinner menu including such savory bites as Caribbean style pulled pork, crab cakes, filet mignon and fois gras sliders, Mediterranean salad, and red bliss potatoes with caviar.

Twin-Star International is announcing the launch of a 300 cube split container program for the company’s ClassicFlame Electric Fireplaces, Tresanti Media Consoles, Thermoelectric Wine Coolers, Beverage Cabinets, Kitchen Islands, and Duraflame Infrared Quartz Heaters and Fireplaces. Twin Star will be fully operational in its 180,000 square foot warehouse in the Shenzhen free trade zone by June 15th. The 300 cube split container program is operated in conjunction with Zenith Global Logistics.

Retailers who participate in the program can now take advantage of china direct pricing while being able to order in small quantities. Any or all of Twin-Star’s brands and products can be mixed in one 300 cube order making it easy for the retailer. Prices to the retailers include all duties and freight from Twin-Star’s China warehouse to their retail store. Split container orders are targeted to arrive at the retailer's door within approximately six weeks. Zenith’s program also includes 24 hour a day web portal access for live updates on status and location of all orders.

Twin-Star International takes to the ballpark with SOS Children’s Village and local Literacy AmeriCorps volunteers

Twin-Star International welcomes the kids and staff from the SOS Children’s Village, and AmeriCorps volunteers working with the Literacy Coalition of Palm Beach County, to Sun Life Stadium on Friday, October 1st as the Florida Marlins take on the Pittsburg Pirates. The Delray Beach based furniture manufacturer hopes to build awareness and support for the SOS Children’s Village and AmeriCorps, while providing an entertaining experience for the children, SOS staff, and the volunteers.

SOS Children’s Village provides foster children with a unique opportunity to flourish in a nurturing environment while empowering them to achieve their full potential. Since 1993 SOS has helped raise more than 255 foster children and with cornerstones such as keeping biological and foster siblings together in safe secure homes, in a village of neighbors and friends, each child is afforded a chance to grow into productive and mature young adults.

Literacy AmeriCorps Palm Beach County is a national service program that recruits recent college graduates to provide literacy services to adults, children and youth in our community. This "domestic literacy Peace Corps" contributes over 42,500 hours per year by tutoring and teaching, providing reading enrichment activities for children, participating in community service projects and recruiting community volunteers.

Fresh Commitments to Management and Growth

Twin-Star International makes a clear commitment to management and continued growth with two new Executive hires. Kevin McColgan joins Twin-Star as Chief Operating Officer,and Jim Eggers joins the team as Vice President of Tresanti Furniture and Antiqua Bath.

Mr. McColgan brings many years of senior management experience to Twin-Star included a very successful tenure as CEO of Aero Products. At Twin-Star he will be overseeing all operational aspects of business, and will be spending a great amount of time in Twin-Star’s China operation to help insure that all systems run at maximum efficiency and that the company’s operations are flexible enough to deal with the market issues of today and the future.

Mr. Eggers brings 20 years of furniture business experience in product development, sourcing and merchandising that include 12 years with IKEA, time at Pottery Barn, Catalina Lighting and most recently, Zolalo Imports as Director of Merchandising. Jim will be looking after the Tresanti Furniture and Antiqua Bath product lines in an effort to accomplish the aggressive growth plans Twin-Star has set for these products lines to follow in the footsteps of the success they have had with ClassicFlame, the company’s premier Electric Fireplace line.

The Avignon by Classicflame Electric Fireplaces was recently featured on the CBS Early Show as part of their “green and clean” series. The segment introduced eco-friendlyalternatives to traditional wood burning fireplaces.

The segment was hosted by CBS’s Harry Smith who brought on David Gregg, the Senior Editor of BehindTheBuy.com which generates the amazon.com sales trend report and researches new product trends and consumer reviews. Tis the Season; Twin-Star International gives back

On Tuesday December 22nd, Twin-Star employees loaded up their cars with a ClassicFlame electric fireplace and gifts for the Del Valle family, who they sponsored this year through the Adopt-A-Family program in Palm Beach County.

This is the second year that Twin-Star has volunteered their time to help a family in need.“Even in tough times it’s clear that we have enough when others have so little. Reaching out to those families during the holidays feels natural and right.” says Denise Kantrowitz,Twin-Star’s VP of Finance.

A Cool Debut from Twin-Star International

Filling a void in the marketplace, Tresanti Wine Cabinets have been well received by retailers. Not-so-common Rental Products Gain Momentum for Dealers

It’s either hot or cold at Twinstarhome.com, whose ClassicFlame electric fireplaces have been popular in rental-purchase stores since they introduced them several years ago. Adding a new twist with a new product line, Twin-Star now offers the Tresanti line of wine coolers, until recently not something typically found in an RTO showroom.

“Refrigerated wine cabinets are something new to bring into a rental store,” says Alexia Rouquette Mays, director of marketing and public relations for Twin-
Star. “Wine is big business. RTO dealers who have put our coolers in their stores are finding that customers will come in for one thing, see the cooler as something they’ve ‘gotta have’ and end up adding that to their order – sometimes almost as an impulse buy.” She adds that because a Tresanti wine cooler is framed by a quality crafted cabinet with hand-rubbed finish, it is viewed as a piece of furniture that adds style to the home.

The Tresanti line follows suit with ClassicFlame products in presenting fine furniture with function. In its award-winning line of electric fireplaces, Twin-Star features more than 30 different models in various furniture styles and finishes. “In a nutshell, our fireplaces add beauty to any home. Heather Buchanan, buyer for Countryside Rentals in Ohio, says not only do they look good, ClassicFlame fireplaces have helped customers battle both cold weather and a frigid Ohio economy. “Customers love the great styles, but with a high rate of unemployment here this winter, people have found them an inexpensive way to supplement their heat. They went out quickly this season.”

Mays adds that surprisingly ClassicFlame fireplaces are popular year-round because of the “furniture appeal” and look it brings to a room, whether turned on or off.

From Hot to Cold

It proves that consumers want quality pieces of furniture in their homes and are looking for upscale selections.”

Caples adds, “One reason we have been successful with our fireplaces and now our wine coolers and consoles is that we are able to provide quality and affordability – true value. That appeals to consumer budgets and store profit margins. It’s a win win.”

In 2008 Twin-Star International made a strong statement to its competitors that copies and knock-offs of their designs will not be tolerated. This message was delivered in three separate actions against companies that attempted to misappropriate Twin-Star’s
copyrighted designs.

The Philip Reinisch Company, SteinWorld LLC, and Hargrove Manufacturing
Corporation, were all notified of alleged copyright infringement by Twin-Star. All were settled with the companies’ agreement on a cessation to produce the models in question, and Twin-Star received royalties from the accused models. SteinWorld LLC agreed to remove themselves completely from the electric fireplace business for a period of no less than 18 months.

they develop are a testament to their creativity and Twin-Star’s commitment to bring innovative designs to market. We plan to stand by and protect the over 1,000 designs
